Gamadji Primary School was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Gamadji (pronounced gah-mah-gee) is a Wurundjeri Woi wurrung language word meaning emerging creeks.
We are very excited to launch our school logo!
We would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Samantha Richards for her creativity and dedication in designing a logo that truly represents the spirit and values of our school. Each element of the logo holds meaningful symbolism:
- This concept is about people coming together from their own journeys throughout life meeting in one place.
-
The large circle with the smaller circles around it represents the wider community and all of the people that come together, sharing knowledge (single yellow circle).
-
Inside the large circle, there is the creek throughout the centre, and the four circles representing the waterways.
-
The big yellow circle with smaller circles represent the school itself, with the U shapes being the students and staff at the school.
-
Samantha chose the yellow colour for the centre gathering place as it also looked like the sun which represents the students’ growth.
This logo will become a proud symbol of our school identity.
